“Often there’s an adversarial relationship between architects and contractors. We didn’t have that with Thompson Suskind. We established trust early on, and everybody had the same goal of doing the best job we could.”
“We worked very closely together on a large house in Pacific Heights. It was a very complicated, involved project. But they have a very positive attitude, and they are always looking for ways to solve problems. It was a really positive experience.”
Designed by John Maniscalco Architecture, 2350 Broadway was expanded by excavating a new basement level that consists of an in-ground pool, exercise area, sauna and full bath with a steam shower. The main level was reframed to open the Living/Dining area to an open span of 30’ by 30’ which opens to a Kitchen clad almost entirely in Calacatta Oro marble. The main stair, which won a Merit Award by the American Institute of Architects, San Francisco Chapter, incorporates a three story wood fin screen, glass catwalks and a five story elevator. The home now boasts six full bed/bath suites and has a total of seven full baths and two half baths.
